Community Groups

Overview
My Local Beach is all about collecting local knowledge and information, and sharing it in one central hub so that everyone can access our great local beach assets. Local school kids will video document and interview your organisation to share on the communities’ hub.

What you get

  • Connection with local schools that are set up with full media tools and training
  • New communication platform (to a wider community)
  • Online social network (engagement with your audience)
  • Online event management (ticketing, database collection etc)
  • Self managed website development (online manuals and club information storage)
  • Collection of videos of your volunteer jobs and or content of your important history and knowledge
  • Best of all, you get ongoing support in keeping your connection and keeping up with technology for your organisation

How we will do it
Kangaroo Media is funding the project with local business support, we will provide the hub for the information and help train and educate local school kids to gather the information. We will be working with the local council and other community organisations to improve connection.

Local school kids are connected with local experts to collect the content, then we help them produce and publish that great information on the one central hub, My Local Beach.

More info
My Local Beach keeps its finger on the pulse of the community and new technologies so that groups can be helped to run their clubs and  kept connected to their younger members.

We understand that many community groups are run by volunteers that invest many long hours to keeping their organisations ticking along, so we’re providing tools and technologies to try and make it easier.

What tools are we talking about?
- Web videos
- HD video and professional audio equipment
- Click and drag website capabilities
- Integrated online management tools (event management tools etc)
- A whole host of media and marketing tools

We’re driving the program to connect the community now, and to provide the platform so that each community group involved can have help in driving their organisation into the next generation.
